About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with expertise in water resources and drainage to join their dynamic team in Edinburgh . You will be instrumental in the design and implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), flood risk assessments, and water management strategies for a range of development projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on environmentally focused projects and contribute to resilient infrastructure planning in Scotland. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) including attenuation, infiltration, and water quality management.
- Conducting flood risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
- Hydrological and hydraulic modeling for surface water and foul water networks.
- Preparation of detailed design drawings, reports, and specifications for drainage infrastructure.
- Liaising with statutory bodies, clients, and contractors to ensure regulatory compliance and project success.
- Contributing to the environmental impact assessment process for development projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related environmental discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in water resources engineering, drainage design, or flood risk management.
- Proficiency in drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage, InfoWorks ICM).
- Good understanding of UK drainage standards, SuDS principles, and flood risk policies.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex hydrological data.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
