About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Civil Engineering Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of infrastructure projects based in and around Newcastle upon Tyne . This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site presence for key meetings and site inspections, coupled with remote work capabilities for planning, reporting, and team coordination. You will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and stakeholder relationships from inception to handover, ensuring successful delivery in accordance with quality and safety standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead significant projects within the region and contribute to the development of vital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of civil engineering projects, from planning and design through to construction and closeout.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.
- Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively to prevent delays and cost overruns.
- Conduct regular progress meetings, site visits, and provide comprehensive project reports.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, contract administration, and construction law.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Chartered Engineer status (e.g., MICE) is an advantage.
