About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Highways Engineer to join their dedicated team in Nottingham . This role focuses on the design, planning, and supervision of highway and transportation infrastructure projects. You will be integral to developing safe, efficient, and sustainable road networks, working on projects that shape the connectivity of the region. This is an office-based position, offering direct collaboration with a team of specialists and hands-on involvement in projects critical to regional development in Nottinghamshire and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop highway schemes, including road layouts, junction improvements, and traffic management plans.
• Conduct traffic analysis, capacity assessments, and road safety audits.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents for highway construction.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, such as the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and statutory undertakers throughout project lifecycles.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, overseeing site works and quality assurance.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in highway or transportation engineering.
• Proficiency in highway design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and vehicle swept path analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of relevant highway design standards and codes of practice.
• Excellent understanding of traffic engineering principles and construction methods.
• Effective communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
