Civil Highways Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Highways Engineer to join their dedicated team in Reading . This role focuses on the design, planning, and supervision of highway and transportation infrastructure projects, contributing to the development and improvement of road networks. You will work closely with project managers, design teams, and external agencies to deliver high-quality, safe, and sustainable transportation solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop highway alignments, junction layouts, and road drainage systems.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and contract documents for highway construction.
• Conduct traffic impact assessments and network analysis.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant DMRB standards and other highway design guidelines.
• Liaise with local authorities, Highways England, and other stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
• Provide technical input during the construction phase, including site supervision and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in highways engineering design .
• Proficiency in highway design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MX, or similar.
• Good understanding of traffic engineering principles and transportation planning .
• Familiarity with DMRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges) and relevant legislation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication abilities.
