Civil Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge . This role is central to the design and delivery of essential infrastructure projects, including drainage, highways, and utilities, for a variety of development schemes. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, contributing your technical expertise to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and meet all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Design and development of infrastructure elements such as foul and surface water drainage, roads, and public realm areas.
• Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and reports using industry-standard software.
• Liaise with statutory bodies, utility providers, and clients to secure approvals and coordinate services.
• Undertake site assessments and feasibility studies for new projects.
• Assist in the preparation of technical specifications and contract documents.
• Ensure designs comply with current UK planning policies, building regulations, and environmental standards.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience in infrastructure design, ideally within a consultancy or development environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage, InfoWorks).
• Good working knowledge of Section 38, Section 104, and Section 278 agreements.
• Strong understanding of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
