Civil Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a well-established civil engineering consultancy located in Southampton , is looking for a motivated Civil Project Engineer to contribute to their diverse project portfolio. This role involves managing various stages of civil engineering projects, from planning and design to execution and handover, offering a blend of office-based technical work and on-site supervision. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success, driving efficiency and quality. This hybrid role provides the flexibility to balance project demands with personal commitments, based in the heart of Hampshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects, including residential developments, infrastructure upgrades, and commercial sites.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, local authorities, and construction teams, to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Conduct site assessments, surveys, and inspections to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.
• Prepare project documentation, including reports, drawings, specifications, and contract administration.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with professional accreditation being an advantage.
• Proven experience (4+ years) in project engineering or project management within the civil engineering sector.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and design tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote tasks with site visits.
