Civil Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Site Engineer to join their construction team in Portsmouth . This hands-on role is essential for ensuring that civil engineering projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards on site. You will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and health and safety regulations. This is a prime opportunity for a practical engineer to gain valuable site experience and contribute directly to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects in the Hampshire region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily construction activities on site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures on site.
• Conduct quality control checks and ensure work is carried out to specification.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for site teams.
• Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and clients regarding site progress and issues.
• Maintain site records, including daily reports, progress updates, and incident logs.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Assistant Site Engineer on civil engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in using surveying equipment and basic CAD viewing software.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving on site in Portsmouth .
