About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Structural Engineer to join their hybrid team in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK . This role focuses on the structural design and analysis of various civil engineering projects, ensuring the safety, stability, and longevity of built structures. You will work on a range of projects, from building frameworks to bridges and other significant civil engineering constructions, collaborating with both office-based and remote colleagues. The ideal candidate is adept at structural analysis, design software, and possesses a strong understanding of relevant building codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing civil engineering structures.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant UK building regulations and British Standards for structural integrity.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and construction teams on hybrid and in-office projects.
- Conduct site inspections to verify structural work and address any site-specific issues.
- Provide technical guidance and solutions for structural challenges encountered during design and construction phases.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification or working towards it.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in structural engineering design .
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD.
- Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design principles.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for a hybrid work environment.
