About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Civil Structural Engineer to join their busy office in Reading . This role is essential for providing structural design expertise across a range of exciting building and infrastructure projects within the Berkshire area. You will work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop robust and innovative structural solutions, ensuring the integrity and safety of the built environment. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake structural design calculations and produce detailed drawings for various building types (e.g., residential, commercial, industrial).
- Perform analysis of structures under various loading conditions using structural analysis software.
- Liaise with architects, clients, and contractors to ensure designs meet project requirements and timelines.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve any structural issues that arise.
- Ensure compliance with current building regulations, British Standards, and other relevant codes of practice.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians within the structural design team.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in structural engineering design.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer, Revit).
- Good understanding of building materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, and timber.
- Familiarity with relevant UK building regulations and Eurocodes.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
