Aureos are seeking a Civils Site Manager to oversee and coordinate all on-site civil engineering and construction activities, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
The role involves managing subcontractors, labour, suppliers, plant, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and client requirements.
Location: Scotland, Highlands & Islands
Key Responsibilities
Site Management
Supervise daily site operations and construction activities.
Ensure work is carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
Coordinate site labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials.
Monitor progress against programme and report delays or issues.
Conduct site inspections and quality checks.Health, Safety & Environmental
Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture.
Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and relevant legislation.
Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
Complete risk assessments and method statement reviews (RAMS).
Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.Quality Assurance
Ensure works meet contractual specifications and quality standards.
Maintain site records, inspections, and quality documentation.
Manage snagging activities and corrective actions.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and inspectors as required.Resource & Programme Management
Plan labour, plant, and material requirements.
Monitor productivity and site performance.
Assist in managing project costs and reducing wastage.
Support project delivery within agreed budgets and timescales.Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary site contact for clients and stakeholders.
Attend site meetings and progress reviews.
Maintain positive working relationships with all parties involved in project delivery.Essential Requirements
Qualifications
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (preferred).
SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
Valid CSCS Card.
First Aid at Work certification.
Full UK Driving Licence.Experience
Proven experience in civil engineering, groundworks, infrastructure, highways, utilities, or construction projects.
Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors.
Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
Experience managing health and safety requirements on site.Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office and site reporting systems.Desirable
Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor qualification.
NRSWA Supervisor qualification.
Experience with NEC contracts.
Environmental awareness training.
Knowledge of CDM Regulations.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Health & Safety performance.
Programme adherence.
Quality compliance and defect management.
Productivity and resource utilisation.
Client satisfaction.
