About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and customer-focused Claims Handler specializing in Motor Insurance to join their team based in Sunderland . This role involves managing a portfolio of motor insurance claims, ensuring efficient and fair resolution for policyholders. You will be the primary point of contact for customers throughout the claims process, providing support and clear communication. This hybrid position allows for a balance of office-based collaboration in our Sunderland hub and the flexibility of working from home, offering a modern approach to claims management within the vibrant insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of motor insurance claims from First Notification of Loss (FNOL) through to settlement.
- Investigate claims by gathering information from policyholders, third parties, and relevant documentation.
- Assess liability and coverage in line with policy terms and conditions.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and third-party representatives where appropriate.
- Ensure accurate and timely updating of claim files and internal systems.
- Provide excellent customer service, offering clear advice and updates to policyholders throughout the claims journey.
Requirements
- Previous experience in handling motor insurance claims is essential, demonstrating a solid understanding of the claims process.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements governing motor insurance in the UK.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations.
- Proficiency in using claims management software and standard office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
