Claims Handler - Personal Injury

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and empathetic Claims Handler to manage personal injury claims within their specialized team in Sunderland . This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively. You will be responsible for processing claims from inception to completion, ensuring fair outcomes for claimants while adhering to company procedures and regulatory standards. This is a remote-first position, offering the flexibility to work from home while being part of a supportive and professional insurance claims department that is committed to providing excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal injury claims from first notification of loss (FNOL) to settlement.
• Conduct thorough investigations, gather necessary documentation, and assess liability and quantum.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with claimants, solicitors, medical experts, and other relevant parties.
• Process payments, set reserves accurately, and manage claim files in line with company protocols.
• Identify opportunities for early settlement and actively manage the claims process to minimize costs and durations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience in handling personal injury claims , either RTA or EL/PL, is essential.
• Strong understanding of the claims process, relevant legal frameworks, and insurance principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to customer service excellence.
