Class 1 HGV Driver – Waste & Recycling

Location: Quarrington Depot, NG34 Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Pay: £14.50 per hour basic | £21.75 per hour overtime Night-Out Allowance: £25 per night OTE: £57,980 per annum

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our client's team at Quarrington Depot. This is a permanent, full-time position offering guaranteed hours, consistent work and excellent earning potential within the essential waste and recycling sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 articulated vehicles to transport waste and recyclable materials.

• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.

• Maintain accurate digital tachograph records and comply with drivers' hours regulations.

• Follow UK road transport legislation, Working Time Directive requirements and site health and safety procedures.

• Ensure loads are transported safely and efficiently.

• Represent the company professionally at collection and delivery sites.

Essential Requirements

Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.

Valid Driver CPC qualification.

Valid digital tachograph card.

Proven Class 1 driving experience.

Good understanding of drivers' hours, Working Time Directive regulations and vehicle defect reporting.

Reliable, safety-conscious and professional approach to work.

Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Desirable: Experience in waste and recycling, walking floor trailers or bulk transport.
