Class 1 HGV Driver – Night Trunking – Southampton

Streamline Recruitment is currently recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers to support our customer’s night trunking operation in Southampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for Monday-to-Friday night work, with start times between 19:00 and 21:00. You’ll be carrying out trunking duties using 50ft trailers, ensuring loads reach their destination safely and on schedule.

Pay: £20.26 per hour – PAYE

The role

*

Carrying out Class 1 trunking duties using 50ft trailers.

*

Working Monday to Friday, with evening starts between 19:00 and 21:00.

*

Completing vehicle and trailer checks before departure and reporting any defects.

*

Ensuring trailers are coupled securely and loads are safe before setting off.

*

Completing relevant transport paperwork and maintaining accurate tachograph records.

*

Communicating with the transport team regarding progress, delays or any issues during your shift.

*

Following site procedures and maintaining a professional approach at collection and delivery points.

Requirements

*

A valid UK C+E driving licence, UK digital tachograph card and UK CPC card.

*

Ideally 1 year of practical Class 1 driving experience, although new drivers are welcome to apply.

*

Drivers must be 25 years of age or older for insurance purposes.

*

Successful completion of a driving assessment.

*

A full 5-year work history.

*

A reliable approach to attendance, good communication skills and a strong commitment to safe driving.
