About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Cloud Security Architect to design and implement secure cloud solutions for their organisation, operating remotely with a focus on their Southampton operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and applications hosted in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will lead the development of cloud security strategies, establish best practices, and work closely with engineering teams to embed security into the cloud infrastructure from the ground up. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust cloud security architectures that align with business requirements and industry best practices.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud environments.
- Oversee the implementation of cloud security controls, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, and data encryption.
- Conduct security reviews of cloud deployments and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
- Respond to cloud-specific security incidents and conduct forensic investigations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in information security, with a strong focus on cloud security architecture.
- Proven expertise in securing major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices, services (e.g., WAF, Security Groups, IAM), and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools and security automation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences in a remote setting.
