Cloud Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Specialist to join their forward-thinking team, offering a fully remote working arrangement to support their operations across the UK, including Bristol . You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security controls for their cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP). This role is critical in protecting cloud-based assets, ensuring compliance, and proactively identifying and mitigating cloud-specific security risks. You will work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to embed security into cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and enforce security policies and best practices for cloud infrastructure.
• Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud deployments.
• Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) controls in the cloud.
• Monitor cloud security posture and respond to security incidents in cloud environments.
• Automate security tasks and processes using scripting and cloud-native tools.

Requirements

• Proven experience in cloud security engineering and architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices for major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with cloud security tools, IAM, network security groups, and encryption.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
• Understanding of container security (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate are highly valued.
