About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to join their globally distributed team, working remotely with a focus on supporting operations in Glasgow and beyond. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud computing principles, a strategic mindset, and the ability to translate complex technical needs into practical architectural designs. You will be a key advisor on cloud strategy and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure roadmaps, strategies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand their needs and provide appropriate cloud solutions.
- Oversee the implementation and deployment of cloud services, ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on cloud technologies, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and develop preventative measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing cloud architectures.
- In-depth knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and its services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and containerization technologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
