About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to join their IT department in Southampton . This role is central to designing, implementing, and managing robust cloud-based solutions that meet business objectives and technical requirements. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to define cloud strategy, ensure scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of cloud platforms and a proven ability to architect complex, resilient systems that drive digital transformation for our client.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to define and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on cloud best practices, security standards, and cost optimization techniques.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and deployment guides.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions that align with business goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues within the cloud environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a significant focus on cloud architecture and design.
- Proven expertise in designing and deploying solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
