Cloud Solutions Architect

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic Cloud Solutions Architect to join their forward-thinking technology division, based remotely but with previous ties to Portsmouth . This role is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that align with business objectives. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to define cloud strategy, evaluate new technologies, and architect enterprise-level cloud environments. We seek a visionary leader who can translate complex business requirements into robust, future-proof cloud architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Lead the development of cloud migration strategies and execution plans.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure architectural best practices are followed during development and deployment.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain cloud architecture documentation, standards, and guidelines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT, with at least 4 years focused on cloud architecture and design.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, compute, storage, and database services.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
