CNC Setter/Operator (Milling, Routing & Turning)
Location: Gloucester Department: Operations Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £36,304.25 + 12.5% Shift Allowance
The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Gloucester, is seeking experienced CNC Setter/Operators to support continued growth within their Operations team.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience in CNC Milling, CNC Routing, or CNC Turning (Lathe) operations, ideally using Haas and Fanuc controls. Successful candidates will join a fast-paced manufacturing environment producing high-precision components for a range of industries including Formula 1, aerospace, defence, automotive, and transport.

Key Responsibilities
Set and operate Haas/Fanuc-controlled CNC milling, routing and/or turning machines. Work from engineering and technical drawings to manufacture precision components. Install, edit and run machine programmes. Prepare and load materials and components. Manufacture parts to specified tolerances and quality standards. Carry out in-process inspection and measurement of finished components. Accurately complete inspection records and quality documentation. Use the IFS ERP system to fulfil daily production responsibilities. Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Managers and Quality personnel. Report any production, quality or equipment issues promptly. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the work area. Take a proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring compliance with company procedures. Support operational requirements by remaining flexible and adaptable to changing production demands. Essential
Previous experience setting and operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment. Experience in one or more of the following:
CNC Milling CNC Routing CNC Turning (Lathes)
Experience operating Haas and/or Fanuc-controlled machines. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Understanding of M and G codes. Experience working to tight tolerances. Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
Engineering apprenticeship, Level 3 NVQ, or City & Guilds qualification in a relevant discipline. Experience machining a range of materials including aluminium, composites and plastics. Experience using inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers, shadowgraphs and CMM equipment. Understanding of quality assurance and continuous improvement principles. Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pm Friday: 6:00am - 11:30am Late Shift
