CNC Mill/Turn Programmer, Setter & Operator 📍 Poole, Dorset 💷 £44,434 per annum (£21.90 per hour) + Overtime at Time & Half ⏰ 39 Hours Per Week (Flexi-Time Available) 🏖️ 25 Days Holiday
Our client, a leading precision engineering business supplying the aerospace, maritime and automotive sectors, is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Mill/Turn Programmer, Setter & Operator to join their growing team in Poole.
The Role
- Program, set and operate CNC Mill/Turn machines using FANUC controls
- Produce online and offline CNC programs (Edgecam experience advantageous)
- Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Perform quality checks and SPC inspections to ensure compliance with tolerances
- Inspect your own work using a range of measuring equipment
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and 5S practices
- Work closely with colleagues to achieve production and quality targets
- Adhere to all health, safety and quality procedures
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and precision engineering
- Confidence reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Experience using precision inspection and measuring equipment
- FANUC control experience is essential
- Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable
- Completed apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Experience with Nakamura machines and bar feeders would be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Positive team player with a commitment to quality
Working Hours
- Core hours (must be worked): Monday to Thursday, 9:00am to 4:00pm
- Flexible start time between 7:00am and 8:00am
- Flexible finish time between 4:00pm and 5:00pm
- Friday opening hours: 8:00am to 12:00pm (where required to complete weekly hours)
- Flexi-time available around core working hours
