Job Description
Role: CNC Miller
Location: Bristol
Salary: Up to £39,000 depending on experience
My client is a well-established precision engineering business based in Bristol, manufacturing high-quality components for demanding customers across a range of specialist industries.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join their production team.
This is a hands-on machining role working with modern CNC milling equipment, producing complex, high-precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
The role will involve:
Setting and operating CNC milling machines
Producing small to medium batch, high-precision components
Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications
Setting tooling, workholding and offsets
Carrying out in-process inspection and making adjustments where required
Working with a range of materials including aluminium, steel and other engineering materials
Producing complex components to tight tolerances
Identifying and resolving machining issues
Working closely with the inspection and engineering teams
Maintaining high standards of quality and housekeeping
Supporting continuous improvement and efficient production
Skills and experience:
Previous experience as a CNC Miller within a precision engineering environment
Strong experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good understanding of cutting tools, tooling and workholding
Experience machining tight-tolerance components
Experience with 3, 4 or 5-axis CNC milling would be advantageous
Knowledge of CNC programming or editing at the machine
A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing quality work
Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider production team
Experience within aerospace, defence or another high-precision engineering environment would be beneficial, but candidates from other precision manufacturing backgrounds will also be considered.
