CNC Turner — Setter/Operator (Stockport)

Location: Stockport, Cheshire Job type: Permanent, full-time Salary: £17-£18 a hour Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm (39 hours/week)

The opportunity

ABS Talent is recruiting a CNC Turner (Setter/Operator) on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing company in Stockport. The business designs and manufactures specialist products for the logistics and supply-chain sector, with a long-standing reputation for engineering excellence — and they’re looking to add a skilled turner to their team.

This is a permanent, day-shift role with an early finish and a Monday-to-Friday pattern — no weekends as standard.

The role

• Setting and operating CNC turning machines

• Producing precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances

• Tooling selection, offsets and in-process checks

• Quality inspection of your own work to required standards

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area

About you

• Experience as a CNC Turner — Setter/Operator

• Mazak controls preferred — but experience on other controls is welcome (Fanuc, Siemens, etc.)

• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Comfortable working to tight tolerances

• Reliable, quality-focused and a good team player

Hours & overtime

• Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm (39 hours/week)

• Overtime paid at time and a half
