Commercial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and analytical Commercial Accountant to join their finance department based in Coventry . This role is crucial in providing financial insights and support to various business units, helping to drive commercial decision-making and profitability. You will be involved in financial analysis, business partnering, and performance reporting, working closely with operational teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant who wants to work closely with the business operations and contribute directly to strategic initiatives within a growing company in the West Midlands .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and analyse financial models to support business cases and investment appraisals.
• Prepare detailed management reports, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends.
• Business partner with department heads to understand their financial needs and provide guidance.
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, challenging assumptions and ensuring accuracy.
• Monitor and report on budget variances, identifying areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
• Support the implementation of new financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a commercial or management accounting role.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
