Commercial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Commercial Accountant to join their fully remote finance team, supporting operations across the UK. This role is crucial for providing in-depth commercial insights, driving profitability, and supporting strategic business initiatives through robust financial analysis. You will be instrumental in translating financial data into actionable business recommendations, working autonomously from a remote location. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed financial models to support pricing strategies, product launches, and business case development.
• Analyse sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks.
• Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and operational teams to provide financial guidance and support.
• Prepare monthly performance reports, including P&L analysis, KPI tracking, and forecasting updates.
• Challenge business assumptions and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting relevant to commercial activities.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong commercial acumen.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a commercial or business-focused accounting role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formula building, pivot tables, and data visualization.
• Experience with financial planning & analysis (FP&A) software and BI tools is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
