About the Role

A prominent law firm based in Derby is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join its busy and respected dispute resolution department. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of commercial disputes, encompassing breach of contract, professional negligence, shareholder disputes, and debt recovery. You will be responsible for handling cases from inception through to resolution, whether by settlement, mediation, arbitration, or court proceedings, providing clients with strategic advice and robust representation. This is a key role within the firm, contributing to its reputation for excellence in litigation services in Derbyshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from commencement to conclusion.
• Draft pleadings, applications, witness statements, and other court documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare detailed advice for clients.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediations and arbitrations.
• Liaise with opposing counsel, clients, and the court to progress cases efficiently.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation best practices.
• Proven track record of successfully managing disputed cases.
• Excellent analytical, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
