Commercial Property Solicitor/Legal Executive

Opportunity: Commercial Property Solicitor / Legal Executive

Location: Royal Wootton Bassett | Hybrid and Flexible Working

Salary: Up to £80,000 + bonus

If you enjoy commercial property but would like more opportunity to develop your practice, get involved in interesting work and have a say in where a team goes next, this could be worth a look.

I'm working with a well-established Wiltshire law firm with a lovely, down-to-earth culture and a growing Commercial Property team. They're looking for a Solicitor or Legal Executive to join them in Royal Wootton Bassett and there's plenty of scope to develop professionally as the team continues to grow.

And the work? It's a little different from what you might expect from a small regional firm.

The Work:

You'll handle a varied commercial property caseload, including sales and acquisitions, refinancing and leases, with the opportunity to get involved in some particularly interesting specialist work.

The team has expertise in advising landowners on promotion agreements, options, renewable energy projects and land diversification, alongside pension property matters.

The renewable energy side is a real point of difference. It's not something you see every day in a smaller, traditional practice and the team has an exciting foundation to build on. There's an established platform, a strong network and real potential to develop this offering further.

You'll manage your own matters with autonomy, taking a practical, commercially minded approach to client work, while working alongside colleagues on larger and more complex transactions. It's a role where you can use your existing experience but also broaden it, build relationships and get involved in the continued development of the department.

The Firm:

This is a firm that's been part of the Wiltshire community for over 150 years, with established offices and a loyal client base built over generations.

It's proud of its approachable, professional style and offers something that can be difficult to find: interesting, high-quality legal work in a truly friendly environment.

It's ambitious and keen to keep developing but without the feeling that you need to fit into a big corporate machine. People matter, relationships matter, and there's room to make your mark.

The Team and Your Future:

You'll work closely with an experienced Commercial Partner who has a background in larger commercial practices. They bring that wider commercial experience and network to the team, alongside a strong foundation of work and relationships.

The opportunity is to build on that foundation together. Whether you're looking to develop your technical expertise, take on more responsibility, strengthen client relationships or progress as the department grows, there's room to shape what your next few years could look like.

What We Are Looking For:

They're open-minded about PQE because the right person matters more than a number on a CV. They appreciate that experience doesn't always fit neatly into a PQE bracket so if you've built strong commercial property experience through a slightly different route, don't rule yourself out.

You'll ideally have experience across a broad range of commercial property matters, be comfortable managing your own caseload and enjoy providing clear, commercially focused advice. Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail are important, as is being someone who enjoys working collaboratively and getting stuck in.

They're open to both Solicitors and Legal Executives.

What's on offer?

Bonus scheme Hybrid working, with three days per week in the office Flexible working arrangements Free parking Enhanced pension Employee discounts Regular social events Support with your ongoing development and genuine opportunities for progression

Interested?

You don't need to be actively looking to be curious about what's out there. If you would like a role offering an interesting caseload and the chance to help develop a team rather than simply slot into one, I'd love to tell you more.

Get in touch for a confidential, no-pressure chat. Even if you're not sure it's the right move, it's worth finding out a little more before ruling it out!
