Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal commercial insurance applications, assessing risk exposure and determining appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, providing expert advice and responsive service.
• Analyse financial statements, business operations, and other relevant data to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting policies, regulatory requirements, and company best practices.
• Monitor the performance of your book of business, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and sales departments to provide a cohesive and effective insurance offering.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commercial Underwriter within the insurance sector .
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, risk management principles, and market dynamics.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills for effective broker and client engagement.
• Proficiency in underwriting systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CII) are a significant advantage.
