Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite new and renewal commercial insurance business, assessing risk exposures and determining appropriate terms and pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents, providing technical support and market insights.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, company strategy, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identifying trends and opportunities for growth or improvement.
- Collaborate with claims and risk control teams to provide a holistic service to clients.
- Stay current with market developments, competitor activity, and emerging risks within the commercial sector.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial insurance underwriting , with a strong understanding of various commercial lines of business.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and risk assessments accurately.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in underwriting systems and MS Office Suite.
- A professional qualification in insurance (e.g., ACII) is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of the UK insurance market and regulatory landscape.
