About Us
Bedfordshire Open Door is a trusted local charity providing free, confidential counselling and support to young people aged 13-25 across Bedfordshire. We are committed to empowering young people to navigate life's challenges and improve their mental health.
We are seeking a Community Fundraiser to play a key role in helping us grow income, expand supporter engagement, and strengthen our presence across Bedford and the surrounding areas.
Role Purpose
We're looking for a Community Fundraiser to help us grow our income, build relationships with supporters, and raise our profile across Bedford and the surrounding areas. This is a dynamic, outward-facing role ideal for someone who is locally connected, socially confident, and wants to make a difference.
You will support fundraising activity across three key areas:
- Community fundraising - building regular giving, running appeals, and engaging schools, community groups and parish councillors.
- Corporate fundraising - developing partnerships with local businesses and nurturing existing supporters.
- Grant support - assisting the CEO with funding applications when needed.
You will also help create engaging content for social media and digital campaigns to support fundraising efforts.
Location Requirements
This is a Bedford-based role. We're looking for someone who lives in or near Bedford, knows the area well, and ideally brings existing local connections that can support fundraising.
