Community Sports Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and proactive Community Sports Development Officer to join their team in Wolverhampton . This role is focused on increasing participation in sports and physical activities across the local community, with a particular emphasis on underserved groups. You will work collaboratively with schools, local authorities, sports clubs, and community organisations to design and deliver impactful programmes. The hybrid nature of this role allows for flexible working, balancing community outreach with strategic planning and reporting from a central office.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities and develop strategies to increase community participation in sports.
• Design, plan, and deliver a range of sports and physical activity programmes for diverse age groups and abilities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, clubs, and local government bodies.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support programme delivery.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of sports development initiatives, producing reports on outcomes.
• Seek funding opportunities and assist in grant applications to support projects.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development, community engagement, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of barriers to sports participation and strategies to overcome them.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with diverse groups.
