About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Sports Development Officer to drive participation and engagement in sports programs across Wolverhampton . This vital role involves designing, implementing, and managing initiatives aimed at increasing sports activity within local communities, catering to diverse age groups and abilities. You will work closely with schools, community groups, and local authorities to create inclusive and accessible sporting opportunities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a deep understanding of sports development principles, and a genuine commitment to fostering healthier, more active communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging sports programs and activities for various community groups.
- Identify opportunities to increase sports participation and promote healthy lifestyles.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local schools, clubs, and community organizations.
- Organize and manage sports events, festivals, and taster sessions.
- Seek funding and sponsorship opportunities to support sports development initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate program impact, reporting on outcomes and achievements.
Requirements
- Experience in sports development, coaching, or community outreach.
- Strong understanding of sports participation strategies and inclusive practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proven organizational and project management abilities.
- Valid First Aid and Safeguarding Children qualifications are essential.
