Community Sports Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is searching for a passionate and proactive Community Sports Development Officer to foster sports participation and wellbeing within the Sheffield area. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing sports programmes that engage diverse community groups, promoting inclusivity and healthy lifestyles. You will work closely with local schools, sports clubs, and community organisations to increase access to sports and recreational activities, making a tangible difference in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging sports programmes for various age groups and abilities within the community.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local schools, clubs, and stakeholders to promote participation.
• Identify funding opportunities and assist in grant applications to support community sports initiatives.
• Organize and manage sports events, festivals, and taster sessions for the public.
• Promote sports participation through targeted outreach and marketing campaigns.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of programmes, reporting on outcomes and areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development, community outreach, or youth work.
• Strong understanding of sports participation strategies and barriers.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
• Relevant qualification in sports development, coaching, or a related field.
