About the Role

Our client seeks a passionate Community Sports Development Officer to drive participation in sports and physical activity across Leeds . This role involves designing, implementing, and managing community-based sports programs, fostering partnerships with local schools, clubs, and organizations, and promoting healthy lifestyles. You will play a crucial role in increasing access to sports opportunities, particularly for underserved groups, and ensuring programs are sustainable, inclusive, and engaging, making a tangible difference in the well-being of the local community through sports.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging sports development programs for various age groups and abilities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including schools, local authorities, and sports clubs.
• Promote sports participation initiatives through effective outreach and communication strategies.
• Secure funding and manage grants to support sports development projects.
• Organize and coordinate community sports events and festivals.
• Monitor and evaluate program impact, reporting on outcomes and identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development , community engagement, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of sports participation strategies and barriers to access.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in developing partnerships and stakeholder management.
• Relevant qualification in Sports Science, Physical Education, or Community Development is desirable.
