About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and community-focused Community Sports Development Officer to join their team in Belfast . This vital role involves designing, implementing, and managing sports development programs aimed at increasing participation and improving health and wellbeing across diverse local communities. You will work closely with local schools, sports clubs, community groups, and statutory bodies to identify needs, build partnerships, and deliver accessible sports opportunities for all ages and abilities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sports development plans tailored to community needs in Belfast .
- Organize and deliver a variety of sports participation initiatives, events, and taster sessions.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including local authorities, schools, clubs, and volunteers.
- Promote the benefits of physical activity and healthy lifestyles through targeted campaigns and outreach.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist with the delivery of sports programs.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the impact and success of community sports projects.
Requirements
- Experience in sports development, community engagement, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of sports participation strategies and barriers to activity.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and event planning skills.
- Proven ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse community groups.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- A relevant qualification in sports development, physical education, or a related discipline is preferred.
