Community Support Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and empathetic Community Support Officer to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial in connecting individuals with vital community resources, assisting them in overcoming challenges, and promoting social inclusion. You will work with a diverse range of clients, understanding their unique circumstances and tailoring support to meet their specific needs, contributing significantly to the well-being of the local population through a blend of remote and in-person engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assessing client needs and referring them to appropriate local services and support networks.
• Providing guidance and advocacy for clients navigating complex systems, such as housing or benefits.
• Organizing and facilitating community outreach programs and social activities.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, community partners, and stakeholders.
• Documenting client interactions and progress through a secure digital case management system.
• Monitoring client well-being and intervening proactively when necessary.

Requirements

• Experience in a community development , social work, or similar field is preferred.
• Excellent understanding of local support services and resources within the Newcastle area.
• Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Comfortable using technology for reporting and client communication.
• A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle may be required for outreach activities.
