Community Support Worker - Young People

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and dedicated Community Support Worker specializing in young people to join their team in Liverpool . This role focuses on providing practical and emotional support to young individuals, helping them to develop life skills, navigate challenges, and transition towards independence. You will work directly with young people in various settings, including their homes and community hubs, offering guidance, mentorship, and access to resources. This is a hands-on role vital for fostering positive development and well-being among the youth in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to young people, assisting them with daily living, education, and personal development goals.
• Develop trusting relationships with young people, acting as a positive role model and mentor.
• Help young people to identify and access relevant community resources and opportunities, such as employment, training, and leisure activities.
• Assist in the development and implementation of individual support plans, tailored to the needs of each young person.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of young people.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and any significant events, adhering to organizational policies.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people, preferably in a youth work, social care, or similar setting.
• Understanding of the challenges faced by young people, including issues related to education, housing, and mental well-being.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with teenagers and young adults.
• Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing your time effectively across different settings.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Youth Work) are advantageous.
