About the Role

Electroserv is looking for a CompEx Inspector / Electrician to join its Field Service Team. You’ll mainly carry out site inspections and electrical rectifications, and make sure sites comply with IEC/BS EN 60079 standards. The role involves regular travel across the UK and EU.

Some of your time may go on shutdown work and instrumentation installation across process industries including aerospace, food, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas.

The role is field based. Applicants within the M60 are preferred because of where the client base is.

About Electroserv

Electroserv has been a leader in calibration services for the last 50 years. We’ve grown and opened up new opportunities over the past decade, and we plan to expand further. We work in Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) and offer a complete service, from design and configuration, express delivery and installation through to UKAS accredited calibration and a full project life-cycle service.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a CompEx Inspector / Electrician, you’ll carry out thorough ATEX/CompEx inspections to IEC/BS EN (phone number removed) standards, using area classification drawings and reports to confirm compliance. You’ll record your findings accurately, report risks and non-compliances promptly and clearly, and produce handover documentation after each inspection so stakeholders can take corrective action quickly.

You’ll also carry out electrical rectifications and repairs to industry standards, and install containment and cable systems, working from electrical wiring diagrams. The aim is to reduce downtime and improve operational safety, so you’ll plan your time to deliver inspections and rectifications on schedule and within scope.

The role involves driving to customer sites, including some overnight stays away from home. You’ll work with internal teams and clients to improve site safety and compliance, and help spot recurring issues and suggest improvements to inspection processes or equipment quality.
