The Role - Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of profound and multiple additional needs, potentially including PMLD, SLD, Autism, physical disabilities, sensory needs, and significant speech and communication difficulties.
Support is highly individualised and guided by each pupil's EHCP, with responsibilities including:
Providing dedicated 1:1 and small-group support Supporting sensory and communication-based learning Using visual aids and alternative communication strategies Developing independence and essential life skills Supporting mobility and physical development Assisting with personal care where required Working alongside teachers, therapists, and other SEN professionalsProgress within complex needs education can look very different for every pupil. Developing a new communication skill, becoming more independent with a daily task, or increasing engagement with their environment can represent a significant achievement.
