About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and knowledgeable Compliance Officer to join their financial services firm in Edinburgh . This role is integral to ensuring the company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies within the highly regulated banking and finance sector. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting internal audits, and providing guidance to staff on regulatory matters. The successful candidate will possess a strong ethical compass, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk management in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the firm's compliance framework and policies.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business, ensuring timely implementation of necessary adjustments.
• Conduct regular compliance training sessions for employees across various departments.
• Perform internal audits and reviews to assess adherence to policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience (4+ years) in a compliance or regulatory role within the financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of UK financial regulations (e.g., FCA, PRA rules).
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory texts.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
