Compliance Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join their team in Leeds . This role is central to ensuring that the firm adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies within the highly regulated banking and finance industry. You will be responsible for monitoring activities, conducting investigations, and implementing compliance programs to maintain the highest standards of integrity and operational integrity, working primarily from the office to facilitate close collaboration with internal teams and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor business activities to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
• Conduct internal investigations into potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide compliance training and guidance to staff across various departments.
• Manage regulatory filings and respond to inquiries from regulatory authorities.
• Stay updated on changes in legislation and industry best practices affecting compliance.

Requirements

• Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience (minimum 4 years) as a Compliance Officer or in a similar regulatory role within the financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations (e.g., FCA, PRA).
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working within a team environment in Leeds .
