About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Computer Vision Engineer to join their innovative R&D team in Plymouth . You will be at the forefront of developing advanced visual recognition and analysis systems, applying cutting-edge techniques in machine learning and deep learning to interpret and process image and video data. This role is critical for building intelligent systems that can 'see' and understand the world. The ideal candidate is passionate about image processing, object detection, and pattern recognition, and eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize computer vision algorithms and models for tasks such as object detection, image segmentation, and facial recognition.
Develop and maintain image processing pipelines for data augmentation, feature extraction, and model training.
Collaborate with software engineers to integrate computer vision capabilities into larger applications and systems.
Evaluate and benchmark the performance of computer vision models on various datasets.
Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in computer vision and deep learning.
Troubleshoot and debug computer vision systems in development and production environments.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on computer vision.
2+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision development.
Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries such as OpenCV, NumPy, and scikit-image.
Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Understanding of image processing techniques and classical computer vision algorithms.
Familiarity with C++ is a plus.
