About the Role

Our client, a visionary studio known for its imaginative worlds, is looking for a talented Concept Artist (Environment) to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . In this role, you will be instrumental in defining the visual identity and mood of our game environments, creating stunning concept art that guides the 3D art team. You will translate ideas and themes into compelling visual designs, contributing to the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of our projects. Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality environment concept art , including sketches, detailed illustrations, and mood pieces.
• Develop visual designs for landscapes, architecture, props, and overall world composition.
• Collaborate closely with art directors and level designers to ensure concepts align with game design and narrative requirements.
• Explore and iterate on different visual styles and moods for game environments.
• Provide clear visual direction and reference material for the 3D art team.
• Stay informed about current trends and techniques in concept art and environmental design.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Concept Artist or Environmental Artist, with a strong portfolio showcasing environment design.
• Proficiency in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or Clip Studio Paint.
• Strong understanding of composition, color theory, perspective, and lighting.
• Ability to translate written descriptions and abstract ideas into compelling visual concepts.
• Experience working within a hybrid work model and collaborating with remote and in-office team members.
• Familiarity with 3D software (e.g., Blender, Maya) for asset creation or block-out is a plus.
