Our client seeks a highly skilled Senior Technical Artist to join their cutting-edge development studio in Stoke-on-Trent . This role bridges the gap between art and technology, focusing on developing tools, pipelines, and optimizing assets to ensure artistic vision can be realized efficiently and with maximum performance. You will play a critical role in empowering the art team, solving complex technical challenges, and pushing the boundaries of visual fidelity in our games, contributing to a studio culture that values technical expertise and creative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain efficient art pipelines, tools, and workflows for asset creation and integration.
- Optimize 3D models, textures, and shaders for real-time performance across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with programmers to implement and debug engine features related to art assets.
- Create and refine complex materials, shaders, and visual effects in the game engine.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the art team, troubleshooting asset-related issues.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Technical Artist in the game development industry.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing software (e.g., Maya, Blender, Substance Painter).
- Strong understanding of game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and their rendering pipelines.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL) for tool development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
