About the Role

Our client seeks a highly skilled and experienced Conservation Architect to lead specialist projects within their respected practice in Belfast . This role requires a deep understanding of historic buildings, materials, and conservation principles, combined with strong project management capabilities. You will be responsible for assessing heritage assets, developing sensitive repair strategies, and guiding projects through planning and listed building consent processes. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed condition surveys and analysis of historic buildings.
• Develop conservation plans and strategies for the repair, restoration, and sensitive adaptation of heritage assets.
• Prepare and submit applications for listed building consent and heritage grants.
• Liaise with heritage bodies, local authorities, and specialist consultants.
• Oversee the construction phase of conservation projects, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Provide expert advice on conservation matters to clients and stakeholders in Belfast .

Requirements

• Qualified Architect with significant post-qualification experience in historic building conservation .
• Membership of a recognised conservation accreditation scheme (e.g., AABC, RIBA Conservation Register).
• In-depth knowledge of traditional building materials, construction techniques, and conservation philosophy.
• Strong understanding of UK planning policy relating to heritage assets.
• Excellent analytical, report writing, and communication skills.
• Experience in managing complex conservation projects from inception to completion.
