Our client is looking for a dedicated Conservation Architect to join their specialist team in the beautiful city of Brighton . This role is perfect for an architect with a deep appreciation for heritage buildings and a meticulous approach to their preservation and sensitive adaptation. You will be involved in a wide range of projects, from historic landmarks to listed buildings, ensuring their integrity and future viability. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake surveys and condition assessments of historic and listed buildings.
- Develop conservation plans and proposals for the repair, restoration, and sensitive alteration of heritage assets.
- Liaise with conservation officers, heritage bodies, and clients to secure approvals for works.
- Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and reports tailored to conservation projects.
- Oversee works on site to ensure they are carried out sympathetically and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Requirements
- Qualified Architect with significant experience and expertise in conservation architecture and historic building repair.
- In-depth knowledge of historic building materials, construction techniques, and conservation best practices.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, planning policies, and guidance for listed buildings and conservation areas.
- Excellent report writing, drawing, and communication skills.
- A passion for heritage and a meticulous attention to detail.
