Construction Contracts Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and strategic Construction Contracts Manager to oversee contractual matters for their extensive projects in and around Derby . This role is vital for ensuring that all construction contracts are fair, legally sound, and managed effectively to protect the company's interests. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, managing disputes, and advising project teams on contractual obligations and risks. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and consultant agreements.
• Manage the tendering process, including preparation of tender documents and evaluation of bids.
• Oversee contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, including variations and claims.
• Advise on contractual rights, obligations, and risks to project teams and senior management.
• Manage and resolve contractual disputes and claims efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant contract law and industry regulations.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar legal/commercial role within construction.
• In-depth knowledge of various forms of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).
• Strong understanding of contract law, procurement, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Relevant degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
