About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Construction Estimator to join their expanding team in Cambridge . You will be responsible for accurately calculating the costs associated with construction projects, from initial bid preparation to final contract negotiation. This role requires a meticulous approach to analysing tender documents, identifying project requirements, and providing cost-effective proposals. You will work collaboratively with project managers, surveyors, and clients to ensure competitive and profitable bids, contributing to the company's growth and success in securing new projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Quantify materials, labour, and equipment required for construction projects.
• Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, and analyse their submissions.
• Prepare detailed tender submissions, including pricing, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with project teams to refine estimates and develop winning bids.
• Maintain a database of project costs and historical data for future estimating purposes.

Requirements

• Experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar cost-estimating role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
