Construction Estimator

About the Role

Our client requires a meticulous and analytical Construction Estimator to join their commercial team in Cambridge . This position is vital for accurately assessing the costs associated with construction projects, from initial inquiry to bid submission. You will analyze project plans, specifications, and other tender documentation to calculate labour, material, and equipment expenses, playing a key role in securing profitable work for the company and contributing to their strong presence in the Cambridgeshire construction market.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and tender documents to understand project scope and requirements.
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to obtain accurate cost data.
• Develop and maintain a database of costs and supplier information.
• Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to management and clients.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar estimating role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
