About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Construction Estimator to join their team based in Cambridge . This role is crucial for accurately assessing the costs of construction projects, preparing detailed bids, and ensuring profitability. You will analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates, working closely with project managers and procurement teams. This hybrid position involves on-site collaboration for project understanding and tender submissions, balanced with remote work for analysis and report generation, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and tender documents to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Source quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating prices to ensure competitive bids.
• Prepare detailed tender submissions and present estimates to management and clients.
• Collaborate with project management and design teams throughout the bidding process and into project execution, utilizing remote communication tools for coordination.

  Requirements
• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods , materials, and pricing structures.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
